Frequently asked questions and TOS

1. Why are your products expensive?

All items are handmade and this takes a lot of time. When fur is ordered from america, like howl fabrics or Big Z, shipping costs are huge, and there are import taxes too. High quality fur isn't cheap. Take my standard handpaws with 2 fur colours for example when i have to order new colours that i don't have in stock. Bontshop asks 50-75 euros per meter of high quality fur. This is the minimum asking length. 2 types of fur = 100-150€. 1 meter fleece or minky colour from my local fabric store or bontshop for pads = 10-20€. Matching high quality thread: 3 spools of 5€ = 15€. 1 meter Lining fabric from my local store: 15-20€. Stuffing = about 1€. This brings the total to 141-206€ material costs. My starting price is 190€. I work about 15 to 20 hours on 1 set (80% is handsewing in my case). Which means, when i work 20 hours, i work at 0€ per hour for the most expensive fur in this example.

2. How long does it take to finish a product?

This highly depends on the complexity of the product and how busy i am.  I still have a job as truckdriver and have a family of 3 kids. Next to that i have my muscle training program. I go by the saying: family and health first, fursuits second.

3. Do you work with deadlines?

No. Point 2 (see above) only gives estimations, and you can order accordingly. This still isn't a guarantee the product will be ready by your deadline.

4. Do you ship worldwide?

No. I only ship to Europe, the United Kingdom and, when informed properly, to America.

5. How much does shipping costs?

This depends on the package weight and destination. You will be given an estimation at the beginning of your commission and a final price when your commission will be shipped. This means the final price can change. When shipping to the UK or America there can be extra import fees for the buyer!

If you are living in belgium you can always pick up your suit yourself or we can meet at a convention or other activity so i can give you the suit there.

6. Do you have a species preference?

Yes. I prefer rare/exotic species. Commission requests with rare/exotic species will get priority for a commission slot. This is because i like them and i want to specialise into these species.

7. Which methods do you use?

I use fursuit making methods that i feel most comfortable with in my level of experience. A lot of well known fursuitmakers set the bar very high for small makers like myself (and a lot of others) and may give the impression that there is a "standard way" or "this is the best way" to make things. This is not the case. Some makers handsew everything, some don't. Some hotglue everything, others sew everything. It's a personal preference and choice. On my tiktok you can view videos on how i made certain things.

8. Which services do you offer?

I make fursuits and fursuitparts, do restorations and repairs and make other stuffs like blankets or anything with fur!

9. Are you a yeti?

NO.

10. How can i contact you?

You can see the contact information in the contact tab. You can message me by the mentioned information.

11. Do you make suits for people under 18?

Yes, but only under strict conditions: the commissioner must have a written permission by the parent or legal guardian, together with a picture of the passport of the parent/guardian. Payment must be executed by the same parent or guardian.

12. Payment and refunds

I will ask a minimum of 1/3 of the total commission price when commissioning heads or bodysuits to cover the material costs and to "seal" the deal. If you decide you want to cancel the commission and materials already have been bought there will be no refund of this 1/3. When the full amount has been paid in advance you will be refunded the other 2/3. When materials have not been bought you will have a full refund.

For paws, tails and feet i ask to pay the full price in advance. There will be no refunds when materials are bought in this case because material costs are very high (or even higher) compared to my asking price.

I will announce when i will buy the materials/start making your suit, so that is a last chance to change your mind and to get a full refund.

13. How can i pay?

When you are living in Europe you can pay by bank transfer, or Paypal.

When you are living in the UK or America you can pay by Paypal only.

14. Do you accept payment plans?

Yes i do! Feel free to discuss this with me.

15. Can i place a commission without a reference sheet?

Yes, but it makes it a lot easier for me of you have one or some examples of what you would like (like pictures from google, other fursuits etc...) I can not guarantee a perfect result of what you want with a verbal discription only.

16. "I really like this suit *shows picture* and i want the same".

NO. I do not copy other suits or fursonas. You can only use them as examples if you like certain colours/styles.

17. Discovery of a stolen fursona.

When a fursuit is made and paid and I discover in the process that a stolen fursona has been used there will be NO refund. The suit remains property of Apeworks until adjustments have been made with all the extra work paid by the commissioner, or it will be destroyed. Stealing a fursona is a huge NO GO and will have consequences.
